We was informed that, AMD’s unreleased product-the Radeon HD 4870 graphics card, now has been put in PCINLIFE Forum for sale.

The sale product is the Radeon HD 4870 engineering sample cards with GDDR4 video memory. We have reported before, the retail version of Radeon HD 4870 graphics cards will GDDR5 memory, to further enhance the bandwidth.

We was informed that the current sales price of the Radeon HD 4870 ES sample is  4,000RMB, equivalent to about 571 U.S. dollars. According to the seller said, Radeon HD 4870 Engineering samples with GDDR4 memory with current beta drivers, can finish 3DMark Vantage test, but were unable to finish 3DMark06 Test, it’s believed to be caused by driver bug.

In addition, Radeon HD 4870 GDDR4 ES has been sold five pieces, one Ireland user has purchased one, industry-leading hardware evaluation site Tomshardware also bought a Radeon HD 4870 GDDR4 engineering samples, believed to be the first to announce the test results.
